Reliable and Usable Email

Email is still the number one application used by businesses over the Internet.  And no wonder… it is efficient, keeps a written record of communication, can have added security features such as encryption and verifiable sender settings and is instant… not true of “snail mail”.  Almost all of us use email now every day, and those that don’t, especially in business are falling behind.  Email is cheap, instant, reliable and convenient.  Unfortunately, the ease of email is also used by “bad guys” to take advantage of the system.

The number one problem facing all users of email is “spam”.  Spam, or unsolicited commercial email or “UCE” accounts for over 90% of email volume!  Think of it: the average email user must some how filter out 9 out of 10 email messages in order to find the legitimate message!  Technology is supposed to make us all more efficient, enabling us to get done more work in less time.  So, wading through hundreds or even thousands of junk emails every day is certainly not accomplishing that goal!

In meeting with area business owners over the years, I’ve discovered that this is a deep frustration among business owners.  Why would a business want an email system that ended up costing them precious labor hours of their employees dealing with spam?  On the other hand, how can a business realistically survive today without email?  It is a catch 22.  Fortunately there are solutions.  Some solutions are much better than others, some don’t work at all.  At VOLstate we routinely filter spam and virus email before it even arrives at the user's mailbox.  It sure is nice to open your mailbox knowing that almost all the messages are legitimate emails.  This saves your business time and money.  If you are dealing with email frustration and want the problem solved, contact us, we have the answer to the problem!
